Cooley supplies students with the substantive knowledge, legal skills. and ethics needed for bar examinations. Students acquire an ethical framework that will guide them throughout their professional career. The curriculum prepares students for a successful entrance into the practice of law and places students in a position to excel in further graduate studies.
Western Michigan University's MBA program employs a cross-functional approach that will help the student develop the skills and abilities to make

Cooley and Western Michigan University (WMU) recently launched the area's first-ever Masters of Social Work (MSW)/Juris Doctor (J.D.) program. Recruitment begins in fall 2011 and enrollment of the first applicants is anticipated to begin in fall 2012.
The partnership will allow students to combine their interests in issues such as:
- Family law and family well-being
- Social processes related to prisoner re-entry into communities
- Social welfare policy and legislation related to poverty
- Social processes related to child protection, parent rights, immigration issues
