Re: NACDL Cat Bennett National Criminal Trial Competition

Dear Competition Participants/Applicants:

As many of you are aware, this Competition was recently moved from the Fall NACDL Meeting to the Winter Meeting to address a variety of issues that were affecting the vitality of this Competition. We have been working with numerous folks at NACDL over the last few months in an attempt to overcome numerous logistical obstacles associated with holding the Competition during the 2012 Winter Meeting in Ft. Lauderdale. Unfortunately, it has been determined that those obstacles would prevent us from offering the quality experience we endeavor to provide for the participants each year with this competition. Thus, the Competition Committee has decided to place the Competition on a short-term hiatus. While there will be no Competition in 2012, we will be re-visiting these logistical issues for 2013 and beyond in the hope of reinstating the Competition.

Periodic updates for 2013 will be accessible through the NACDL Competition link on the Thomas M. Cooley webpage (www.cooley.edu under News & Events) as plans move forward. We thank you for your past participation and continued interest in the Cat Bennett National Criminal Trial Competition.
