Before joining the Cooley full-time faculty in May 2007, Professor Schindler was a partner with the law firm of Warner, Norcross & Judd, in Grand Rapids, Mich., 1986-2007. He is now Of Counsel with the firm.
He has hosted a radio program, The Constitution Among Friends, for WGYU-AM since 1992. He was named a Michigan SuperLawyer by the Detroit News. Professor Schindler served as Law Clerk for the Hon. S. Clifford Wallace, Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, in San Diego, Calif., 1986-1987.
Professor Schindler has authored two privately published Treatises on compliance issues for physicians and hospitals. He is a frequent author and has made hundreds of speeches on constitutional and health care compliance.
His successful litigation work includes defending Dow Chemical Corp. in a substantial government enforcement action and defending a business in the first action ever tried under the Michigan Environmental Response Act. Professor Schindler has litigated numerous Consitutional issues at all levels of state and federal courts, including the Michigan Supreme Court and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
At Cooley, Professor Schindler teaches Constitutional Law and Health Care Regulation.
