Professor Asher joined the Cooley full-time faculty in 2007 after having previously served as an adjunct and a visiting professor.
Professor Asher was in private practice for seven years, serving as a senior associate in the Southfield, Mich., firm of Seyburn, Kahn, Ginn, Bess, Deitch, and Serlin, P.C., 1997-2000. She had a general law practice with an emphasis in environmental law and commercial litigation. During this time, Professor Asher also served as outside environmental counsel for Wayne County, Mich.
Previously, she was an associate with Howard & Howard, P.C., in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., 1993-1997, where she was a member of the Environmental Practice Group. During this time, she served as outside national environmental counsel to Chrysler Corporation and Chrysler Realty Corporation.
From 1987-1990, she served as a teacher at Somersworth High School in New Hampshire. In this capacity, she developed and implemented curricula for 10th grade biology and ninth grade general science.
She served 1983-1984 with the Peace Corps in Niger, West Africa, managing a hospital laboratory and teaching health education to village residents.
