Professor Aiello joined the Cooley faculty in 2005. Before joining Cooley, he was an associate with Bodman LLP, where he practiced in the areas of commercial finance and real estate development. He represented various national financial institutions, including KeyBank, LaSalle Bank and Comerica Bank.

Professor Aiello also has experience with, and an academic interest in, effective land use and conservation techniques. He frequently provides pro bono legal representation to land conservancies in obtaining conservation easements.

Professor Aiello currently sits on the Springfield Township Planning Commission and is a former member of the East Lansing City Council. He also serves as a member of the State Central Committee of the Michigan Democratic Party.

Professor Aiello teaches Property, Land Use and Secured Transactions.
