In just 35 years, Cooley Law School has become one
of the nation’s very best law schools. Cooley has become
nationally known for its training in the knowledge, skills,
and ethics needed to practice the law.

The structural limitations of the Brennan Library limit our ability to provide stacks and shelf space. Although we have used compact shelving for both books and microfiche, we will have a serious book space problem within approximately five years. The current library is fully built out, and we have reached the limit on possible reconfiguration.

We already have a serious study and usage problem brought about by the challenges from the increased enrollment. The greatest library challenge is study space, a problem that is particularly acute during final examination time.
There is also the need for additional computer classroom space. The project will allow us to expand access to high-tech space that meets our Strategic Plan’s call for facilities that can be used to teach students how to use technology in the law practice of the future.
