John started his own valuation case reporting business in 1996, developing marketing newsletters to help accountants and lawyers identify issues when determining the value of businesses. After almost 10 years, he decided to go to law school to advance his career and chose Cooley Law School because of its weekend program, which allowed him to continue to run his business while going to law school. He also received a scholarship that increased over time based on his performance at Cooley.
A business background served him well at Cooley. He earned the Certificate of Merit in Bankruptcy, Business Organizations, Taxation, Securities Regulation, and Taxation of Business Entities. He won first place in the Thomas M. Cooley Tax Writing Competition, earned the Association of Corporate
Counsel Scholarship, and was chosen for the Edward H. Rakow Award in Business and Securities Law.
“Cooley’s hands-on approach to legal education has proven true for me. I continually rely on the information and skills learned and relationships made in courses like Business Planning and Bankruptcy.”
