Anisha chose Cooley after attending an Auburn Hills open house. She was impressed by the friendly faculty and staff who were eager to give her in-depth information about Cooley. "Those same people served as mentors for me throughout my time at Cooley, and to this day, I maintain relationships with many of them."
Anisha Desai Rutkowski chose law school because she enjoyed an academic environment, had a curiosity about the law, and possessed a passion for writing. She knew from her first semester that law school was the correct choice for her. While at Cooley, Anisha was a member of Law Review and received the Certificate of Merit in seven courses. Anisha graduated Magna Cum Laude and received the Distinguished Student Award for her graduating class.
Early on in law school, Anisha became interested in the judicial side of the law. Cooley provided the opportunity to intern at various courts, including the Oakland County Circuit Court, the United States District Court for Eastern District of Michigan, and the Michigan Supreme Court. Because she was interested in working for the judiciary and had discovered that writing was one of her passions, she applied for and secured a position as a Pre-hearing Attorney at the Michigan Court of Appeals. She was then offered a position as a judicial law clerk with Justice Elizabeth Weaver, Michigan Supreme Court and is currently a law clerk with Justice Diane Hathaway, Michigan Supreme Court.

"I cannot stress enough the importance of the writing skills I gained while at Cooley. These writing skills not only include grammar and style, but also the important ability to identify controlling issues and address them in an organized and understandable manner. My Cooley education prepared me to review cases on an appellate level and taught me to write clearly and professionally."
