Michigan Lawyers Weekly Names Cooley's General Counsel as One of the Best in the State
Thomas M. Cooley Law School General Counsel and Associate Dean of Development James D. Robb has been named one of the 2008 In-House Leaders in the Law by Michigan Lawyers Weekly. The honor recognizes the top in-house, corporate legal counselors in Michigan.
"Jim is a key reason why Cooley is as successful as it is today," said Don LeDuc, president and dean of Cooley.
"During his tenure as general counsel, we have opened our Auburn Hills and Grand Rapids campuses and gained the ability to offer full Juris Doctor programs at each location. He played an important role in those successes and continues to be a valuable member of our management team."
Robb joined Cooley in 2002 after serving as an assistant dean for advancement at Wayne State University Law School (Mich.) where he also taught. Earlier in his career, Robb was a partner in the Detroit office at Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, primarily representing private and public corporations and government entities. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association Foundation and the City of Birmingham’s board of ethics.
Celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, Cooley Law School is the largest law school in the country. Founded in 1972, it operates J.D. programs across Michigan in downtown Lansing, in Auburn Hills, and in downtown Grand Rapids. Today, Cooley Law School has nearly 13,000 graduates across the nation and worldwide and also offers joint degree and Master of Laws programs. Cooley offers enrollment three times a year; in January, May and September. Additional information about Cooley can be found at www.cooley.edu.
